(see pg2, 79KB pdf icon)

Design Parameters

Develop Medicare's referral network and medical practitioner evaluations through patient surveys.

Solution

  1. Step-by-Step patient survey design.
  2. Establish multiple feedback pathways.
  3. Rate patient satisfaction and doctor services. Provide Medicare an early response method for tracking and comparing patient outcomes.

Background

The second page of the Medicare Summary Notice contains a section called, 'Appeals Information – Part B'. This section gives patients the ability to challenge Medicare provider fees or alert Medicare about possible abuse and or fraud.

The proposed concept survey was developed as an attempt to give patients a way to help Medicare measure health outcomes following a patient's recent visit. Even if patients are satisfied with the medical services they receive, the survey may help Medicare discover areas where providers need improvement thus preventing deficient care practices.
